Ferrari F1 have struggled all weekend in the buildup to the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. While both drivers have looked far from comfortable in their respective cockpits, Sebastian Vettel has dealt with far worse than teammate Charles Leclerc.
It’s almost as if Ferrari have forgotten they have two drivers and as such, have not catered to Vettel’s car at all. His frustrations from the practice sessions spilled over to qualifying and as a result, the German will start the race in P11.
However, Vettel’s car isn’t the only thing with a Ferrari badge that isn’t well designed. What seems to be worse is their face mask. In numerous interviews so far, Vettel’s face mask has been slipping below his nose like it’s no one’s business. That trend was even evident in today’s pre-race interviews.

Vettel kept having to pull up his mask as he answered questions from former F1 world champion Jenson Button. After concluding his interview with Vettel, Button made a hilarious comment on his mask. Button advised Seb to “Get another mask!” Something that Vettel might gladly do, especially if it meant getting a change of team too.
Sebastian Vettel reveals his car feels better than last weekend, but admits pace still absent
“The feeling in the car was better this week. But, yeah, the pace wasn’t. I think, on one hand, it’s good news for last week that we are able to overcome the lack of feeling and put things together. But obviously at the moment, putting things together seems to be a big split between Charles and myself. Not quite sure why that is but I have to make the best that I can,” Said the 4-times world champion to Jenson Button.
Vettel admitted that it will be tough for him this weekend. He’ll have to fight really hard for a points finish. He might need a little bit of luck to go his way, like it did last weekend. It’s, unfortunately, a sad reality for Vettel. As if the SF1000 isn’t bad enough by itself, Vettel’s one, in particular, seems even worse. It might be a very long season ahead for Vettel, he’ll just have to go into every race hoping for a miracle.
