Lewis Hamilton rates his 2021 Sao Paulo GP weekend as one of the best drives of his career. The 7-time world champion recently talked about the race and how he overcame starting the sprint race from the back and the on Sunday from P10. During the narration, he had a moment of brain fade which fans found disrespectful.

Hamilton was disqualified from the qualifying session owing to rear-wing infringement. As a result, he started the sprint qualifying from the back of the grid. He started the sprint on a strong note by overtaking 4 cars before the first corner in the first lap. The Briton put all his experience into his drive and made some brilliant moves. Eventually, he finished P5 in the sprint race.

Fans Irked with how Lewis Hamilton addressed Sergio Perez

Despite finishing 5th in the sprint, Hamilton started P10 on the race grid. He took the 5-place grid penalty owing to an engine change. Despite that, he didn’t lose hope. Showcasing another brilliant drive at the Interlagos circuit, Hamilton made some audacious lunges and made every move stick.

 

Lewis Hamilton recalled the race in a throwback video. While the video was good otherwise, it was his narration on the move on Sergio Perez that didn’t go down well with the fans. Hamilton addressed Perez as “Max’s teammate”. He took a moment before saying it as he could not recall the name.

It surely had to be an unintentional mistake. We’ve all had those moments of slight brain fades when the thing is right there in your head, but you just cannot recall it. Let us give the man the benefit of the doubt for this one.

Lewis Hamilton pulls off a cheeky prank on George Russell

Formula 1 recently threw a launch party for the launch of the Las Vegas GP next year. Before a fun talk, the drivers did some burnouts for the fans in their racing cars and the safety car. George Russell was however left embarrassed after he couldn’t do the “doughnuts” with the safety car.

During the interview, Lewis told his teammate, “So George, when we were in the safety car, whilst you weren’t looking, I turned the traction control off. So when you were trying to do the burnouts, you couldn’t do anything. He was like, ‘I don’t know what’s going on with him. Why won’t he break traction?'”

While Hamilton was only joking, Russell thought he actually did turn the traction control off. Hamilton came clean to his teammate and said, “I’m rubbing you, I didn’t really do it.”
