Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers ever. Naturally, being a Formula 1 driver means taking risks beyond imagination. However, as it would turn out, the brave racing driver can take corners at ridiculous speeds but is still scared of something very small.

Lewis Hamilton has revealed the one thing that freaks him out. While talking to Vanity Fair, the Brit explained that F1 and many other things in life do not invoke fear in him. However, since his childhood, there is one pet peeve that has been plaguing him.

Apparently, the 7x World Champion is an arachnophobe. He has been scared of spiders ever since he’s been a kid. However, every time he checks into a hotel, he does something that even embarrasses him. He always asks for rooms on higher floors! He said, “It’s pathetic, but I do.”

“People say: ‘Dude! You drive around at 200 miles an hour!’ And I’m like, in terms of fear factor, that’s easy for me. I guess we’re just all wired differently.”

Even though the Brit is easily spooked when it comes to spiders, he has no qualms about the dangers of being a Formula 1 driver. On many occasions, he has spoken about the fact that he does not fear the worst when he is in an F1 cockpit.

With 7 titles to his name, Lewis Hamilton is one of the GOATs of Formula 1. Imagine what would happen if something unfortunate would happen to him on the race track. However, Hamilton thinks that would be the perfect way for him to go.

While talking about the risks of being a Formula 1 driver, he said, “But you have got to do what you do because you love it. It is a sacrifice and a risk that we all take. No one wants to be in those situations but, for me, if I was to pass away, I cannot imagine a better way, personally.”

He added, “I have always said if I was going to go, then in a racing car would be the way to do it. It is what I love.”.
