There is no doubt Charles Leclerc and Ferrari are on fire. Ferrari has come into the season to end their long-awaited championship drought. And they have started the season like champions. The Italian team is certainly pulling away from the rest with only three races completed. Leclerc is already 34 points ahead of second-placed George Russell, while Ferrari is leading the standings with 104 points to their name.
Australia has always been a favorite venue for the Prancing Horse. The legendary Michael Schumacher has won the GP 4 times himself. Team Principal Mattia Binotto was a part of Ferrari’s dominant period and he revealed the start to the 2022 season reminded him of the dominance the team had a few years back.

Mattia Binotto reveals Ferrari’s desire to keep improving
Charles Leclerc was in a league of his own in Australia. As Max Verstappen retired due to a fuel leak in his car, the Monegasque almost had the whole track to himself. It has been some time since Ferrari dominated a race like that and Mattia Binotto admitted it brought back some good memories.
He said, “At times I felt like I was reliving those good times,” talking about the time Leclerc dominated in Australia, just as Schumacher used to do. “It’s been a long time since we won with such a performance advantage.”
The F1-75 has been nothing short of incredible so far. While others are struggling with pace and reliability, it seems like Ferrari has hit the jackpot this season.

Ferrari’s dominant period in the sport, with Michael Schumacher at the helm, was incredible, to say the least. And Binotto, who joined the team back in somewhere around 1995, has been on their successful journey. It is fair to say he knows a thing or two about what makes that team special.
“The will to always improve. We are only at the beginning of the road. And the difficult part is yet to come,” stated the Italian. He will also hope Leclerc can continue to deliver success on the track. Two victories in just three races is a sign that the Maranello-based team is set to bring back their glory days.
However, Binotto knows the road to victory is challenging, with Red Bull and Mercedes right behind them. As the season progresses to Imola, the team will look to carry their momentum and improve as the Italian conveyed.
