And outspoken about the issues and struggles from across the globe makes him truly great. And he tries to inspire even with his fashion.
In a conversation with Vogue, Lewis gave us an insight into his philosophy of self-expression. If his last year’s Met Gala message wasn’t clear enough, he spelled it out during this interview. A tiny glimpse into his mindset about the message he wants to deliver into the fashion world.
Lewis’s reply to the question, “Is there a kind of philosophy behind your self-expression?” was “For me, fashion is about freeing yourself—it’s about self-expression; it’s about you; it’s about slowly, over time, evolving and learning more about yourself and what you like and how you want to show up—how you want to be seen. What makes you feel great? It’s a great feeling when you put on a piece of clothing and throw your shoulders back and are just like: I feel great today.”
