Formula 1 is going through one of its biggest transfer churning right now. And no, we are not talking about drivers’ transfers, although that was a juicy affair in itself. We are talking about team principals jumping ship left, right, and center. As Jost Capito tendered his resignation from Williams, fans demand Susie Wolff take his place.

Susie Wolff has had an illustrious career in motorsports. She had a successful karting career before she moved to F1’s feeder series. She impressed during her years in Formula Renault, finishing multiple times on the podium. The stint earned her a place in British Formula 3 in 2005, which was cut short because of an ankle injury. She then moved to compete in DTM for 7 years, before joining Williams in F1.

Susie Wolff’s credentials hailed perfect for Williams’ top job

Susie Wolff switched to Williams as a development driver in 2012. She drove for the team in a couple of practice sessions in 2014. Later in 2015, she quit the Oxfordshire-based team.

Susie made a return to the motor sporting world in 2018, albeit this time as Venturi Racing’s team principal in Formula E. Her best season with the team came in 2020-21 when driver Edoardo Mortara secured runner-up position in the drivers’ championship. She only quit the job in August this year.

Needless to say, Wolff has plenty of experience running a motor sporting team and her credentials are certainly second to none. This had fans rooting for her to get the top job at Williams.

Have a look at some reactions from Twitter.

One fan rated Susie Wolff as the best candidate for Williams’ top job because of her experience with the team in the past.

Another fan lauded Susie’s impressive record as team principal, which should help her stake her claim for the job better than others.

Some fans did not only want to see Susie as Williams team principal but also thought bringing Mattia Binotto as the team’s CTO would be a great idea.

One user listed out all her credentials that make her perfect for the job.

As team principals continue to tender their resignations, what if Toto Wolff steps down from Mercedes job for Susie to take over? At least one fan let their imagination fly high.
