Max Verstappen heads into the new season as the defending F1 champion for the first time. The Red Bull driver won his first world championship last season after beating Lewis Hamilton in the title fight. Until now, Max had always been the hunter as he battled for his first world championship. But now, the tables have turned as now it would be other drivers who would be looking to steal his crown.

But the Dutch driver mentioned he feels no different in his approach during the first race weekends. It would be interesting to see if there is any difference in his driving style now that he is a world champion.

Max Verstappen refuses to change his approach in the 2022 season

As reported by Motorsport-Turkey, Verstappen feels that there is no need for him to change anything about himself and how he performs during a race weekend after becoming the world champion. He mentioned that he only has one goal for the beginning of every season and that is to win. Maybe we’ll see a calmer Verstappen in the cockpit during the races.

“If your car is slow, you won’t be able to beat anyone but your teammate. The rest is impossible to know until you really know,” said Verstappen.

Seeing the dutchman’s confidence, it is a possibility that at the end of the 2022 season, Max Verstappen will be a 2-time world champion. The Red Bull team looked quick in the official pre-season test in Bahrain after they top the chart in the last hour of the session. The Austrian team goes into the 2022 season as the pre-season favorites with Verstappen triumphant once again.
