Many people think that Ferrari prioritizes Charles Leclerc and doesn’t listen to Sainz’s complaints. However this time around, Carlos Sainz’s complaints have been heard by many and there was a lot of backlash for the same. This time around the Former Ferrari Boss shuts down Carlos Sainz for his complaints against Oscar Piastri. Who is this Ferrari Boss and what did he say?
Carlos Sainz and Oscar Piastri crashed during the first lap of the Belgium GP. As a result, both the parties involved were retired. For Piastei it was an instant kill whereas for Sainz it was a slow one after multiple cars overtook him. Peter Windsor recently suggested that the incident was Carlos Sainz’s fault and that the FIA should’ve further looked into the accident. According to his YT video, he said “Interestingly, given the number of Penalties being given, number of warnings or whatever that is given by the stewards these days, there was no action taken at all on this incident [Sainz and Piastri Lap 1 crash]. They just presumed that it was a start line, first-corner accident. To my mind, it was definitely Carlos Sainz.”
Nonetheless, the other Ferrari finished on the podium. A rollercoaster ride for the Ferrari. Let’s see in detail what Sainz said about the crash with Piastri.

We already know that Sainz called out Piastri for the optimistic move. The Spaniard explained that he hit the Apex and almost overtook Hamilton, but Piastri arrived outta nowhere and crashed into him. Spa Francorchamps is famous for the Turn 1 incident. Romain Grosjean even got a race ban for causing collisions at Spa years ago.
According to the-race.com, Carlos Sainz said “A bit of a shame, because when you review the past races, here in Spa, and you know what has been the typical Turn 1 incident – it’s exactly that, no? Everyone who tries the inside line into Turn 1 and tries to really make it around there normally generates an incident or a crash, and this time it was my turn to receive it.”
