An F1 driver’s life is very much like the F1 car itself. Full of high-speed acceleration and hard braking points. Manoeuvering the career around while tip-toeing on the throttle. Charles Leclerc was asked about his lowest point during the Ferrari life i.e. the saddest breaking point. As Leclerc reveals that moment, he dwells on its painful memory which is evident in his words. What was this lowest moment?
Charles Leclerc and Ferrari haven’t had the smoothest of sailings. While Ferrari has produced some race-winning cars, the reliability or the strategy has let the Monegasque down multiple times. Last season was a perfect example of this where these unforced errors cost Leclerc a chance to fight for the championship. Frederic Vasseur was appointed this year to curb these problems but no significant improvement has been made.

Leclerc has been with Ferrari for 5 years now with plenty of disappointing moments to remember. Monegasque was recently asked about his most difficult moment at Ferrari having spent 5 years with the team. According to @FanaticsFerrari’s Tweet, Charles Leclerc replied “Monaco 2021. I was on pole but I wasn’t able to start. Looking back on it, it still hurts.”
Charles Leclerc qualified on pole for the 2021 Monaco GP. However, crashed on his final run in Q3 bringing out the red flag. Unfortunately, the Ferrari driver wasn’t able to start his home race as there was an issue with the driveshaft. By the time the team realized the issue, it was too late for the team to fix it. Nonetheless, the disappointment continued last weekend as Charles Leclerc was frustrated with the result in Hungary.

Ferrari did not have a strong weekend in Budapest. In the qualifying, Ferrari’s customer team Alfa Romeo beat the works team. The race was plagued by a slow pitstop for Charles Leclerc which was then followed by a 5-second penalty. The Scuderia just didn’t have the pace to battle it out at the top.
According to racefans.net, Charles Leclerc said, “The pit stop was quite slow and we had a five seconds penalty for speeding in the pit lane. So it’s again a weekend that is difficult. Honestly, it’s frustrating overall because I felt that with the pace we have today, even as a driver, when you are feeling like you are doing a good job with a car you have, nobody really notices it. And whenever you are doing a bad job, everybody notices it.”
