According to many, Daniel Ricciardo is the perfect example of how to “shot himself in the foot”. The 32-year-old was very well suited to Red Bull cars and turned in tremendous performances. He was a fearsome rival and, whenever dominated, was on the podiums alongside the very best. It is safe to say that he was in contention to be the next world champion because of his phenomenal performances.

But now, the tables have turned as Daniel Ricciardo is now on a quest to score his first points for his team. While he brought the McLaren camp a win in Monza, he hasn’t been the most competitive driver on the grid for a long time now. However, backing his decision to leave Red Bull, Daniel said, “That’s ok. It doesn’t bother me. I also knew that it was also going to come with the territory of leaving a big team and obviously at the time I felt like that was the right thing for me.” Ricciardo seems content with his choices despite the circumstances.

He also said, “I guess when you break it down, it makes sense, but I totally get why people will say ‘you shouldn’t have done that’ or whatever.

Now Ricciardo is usually outpaced by teammate Lando Norris, hasn’t scored a single point, and is often uncompetitive. Safe to say, the man has landed himself in trouble and might have numbered days left in F1.

As a fan favorite, Ricciardo will always have the blessing to outperform everyone with his late braking, charisma, and skill. However, it won’t be a stretch to say that he is falling short on expectations. However, we hope the Aussie can turn it around and especially with the upcoming home race.
