Toto Wolff is one of the most successful Team principals in the history of Formula 1. The Austrian has been involved in the sport since 2009. He has won an unprecedented eight consecutive F1 Constructors’ Championships with Mercedes and is one of the most popular and powerful figures in F1.
After the Dutch GP in Zandvoort, which was also Max Verstappen’s home race, he was reminded of the controversial Abu Dhabi GP by Max fans. However, his reaction would have pleased the Mercedes and Lewis fans.

Toto Wolff is worried for drivers’ safety after flares on the race track
The safety of their drivers is one of Formula 1’s top priorities. Unsurprisingly, Toto Wolff hit back at ‘a few idiots’ after they threw flares on the race track in Zandvoort. Despite red flags being deployed after the first incident, another person threw a flare during the final minutes of Q3.
The Mercedes boss said, “It’s a shame there are a few total idiots out there who don’t consider what a flare on track can do to a driver. If such a can hits you, it could have lethal consequences. The Halo wouldn’t help you in that.”

Home favorite Max Verstappen also condoned the actions and said, “It’s just very silly to do,”. The fan who threw the flare was later removed from the event. However, Toto Wolff hopes the organization takes the incident seriously.
