The hustle and bustle of F1 can often take a toll on one’s mental health. And when you are tasked with minding an entire team like Christian Horner is, then best of luck. Every move, big or small, goes through heavy scrutiny. However, the Red Bull boss has learned to live with it, thanks to a life mantra given to him by his wife Geri.
Before taking to a calmer lifestyle, Geri was a part of the all-girl musical group, Spice Girls. Among the members, Geri had one of the most flamboyant personalities. So much so that she once broke the royal protocol while meeting the now-King and then-Prince, Charles III, and patted his butt. However, motherhood has caused her to be calmer. Even her husband Christian relies on her for sagely advice and recently recalled one that changed his life.
Speaking with inews, Horner told, “My wife has always said to me a pat on the back is only six inches from a kick up the a*rse. This is like the Kardashians on wheels. As long as you are comfortable with the decisions you are taking. That’s how I live my life.”

In the interview, Horner also talked about the constant attacks from rivals that his team has to endure. That includes the ones they had to go through during the entire cost cap saga last year. The one they were found guilty of breaching the cost cap and were slapped with a $7 million fine. That period surely must have taken a toll on everyone involved.
Christian Horner tells why he married Geri Halliwell
Horner amicably split with his ex-wife Beverly shortly after she gave birth to their daughter Olivia in 2013. In 2014, Christian and Geri made their relationship public and got married in 2015. Horner’s parents and many close relatives were far from happy with the union, though. Hence, they skipped the wedding. Then, and even until now, many believe Christian married her because she was a Spice Girl. The RB boss, however, put such doubts to rest in a recent interview.
