I’m going to wrap this up with a win,” Alex Palou told his team boss, Chip Ganassi, before taking his car on to the Portland International Raceway. Staying true to his word, he wrapped up the IndyCar Championship in its penultimate round with a marvelous victory against teammate Scott Dixon. But in the background of his 2nd IndyCar Championship, the lawsuit by Arrow McLaren’s Zak Brown still looms.

It was a weekend to cherish for Motorsport fans. In Formula 1, Max Verstappen, against an unrelenting Italian crowd, got his 10th consecutive in 2023 to make it to the history books. And IndyCar was headlined by Chip Ganassi Racing and Palou’s win at Portland. And keep in mind, the 26-year-old Spanish racer has done this against all odds. After signing a deal with Arrow McLaren for a driver’s seat for 2024 and beyond, he backtracked to leave Zak Brown hanging. Consequently, Brown filed a lawsuit against him that is still active in the U.K. Commercial Court.

I never thought I’d be an IndyCar champion, and to be one two times feels like a dream.”
