Aston Martin’s 2023 season was nothing short of a fairy tale. After finishing 7th in 2022, the hopes for 2023 weren’t that high but the AMR23 proved to be a pleasant surprise. Although the end of the season was a bit shaky, a huge number of positives were taken from the 2023 season by the Aston Martin Team. As the 2024 season inches closer, Fernando Alonso gets to see the AMR24 for the first time. Let’s see what his reaction was.
While the off-season is the time for the drivers to relax and enjoy the holiday season, it’s time to get back to the action, to some degree. The majority of the F1 teams will be revealing their 2024 competitors in the first and second week of February. As a result, the final touches to the car are going to be made. This includes the seat fitting of the driver. And that’s exactly why Fernando Alonso was at the Aston Martin factory.

Fernando Alonso has been enjoying his off-season skiing, celebrating the New Year with George Russell, and racing go-karts at his academy. But it was time for him to get back to F1 as he witnessed the AMR24 for the first time at the AMR factory. And be sure of it that the PR team made a video of the same and uploaded it on Aston Martin F1’s Instagram handle. Alonso’s reaction to the car was on the emotional side.
Fernando Alonso in the video uploaded on Instagram said, “New Car, 2024 season starts. Today again with seat fitting and making sure that we are comfortable in the car. Emotional day in a way that this is the first time you will see what you will race for in the next 11 months. Everyone is excited and everything fits quite well, which is the most important thing.” He continued, “We are incredibly proud of being part of the Aston Martin family. We will give everything this year to make it possible”

“Should not use it as an excuse”: Aston Martin Team Principal sheds light on underwhelming second half of 2023
Lawrence Stroll has splurged millions into the Aston Martin F1 Team and expects the team to start competing for the title soon. However, this meant building a new factory, a new wind tunnel, and hiring more people. But sometimes, this phase of transition is the hardest as the team needs to get used to the new facilities and the process of moving disrupts progress. However, Mike Krack refuses to accept such excuses and takes the second-half downfall on the chest.
According to Motorsport, Mike Krack, talking about moving to the new factory mid-season, said, “I’m not the kind of guy that looks for excuses. We knew before that we would move. We knew before that we were expanding. We knew before that we were still growing. So if you know that before, you can plan all these things, and you should not use it as an excuse – it’s too easy.”
