Formula 1 isn’t an easy sport to leave your legacy in. Even though Lewis Hamilton is easily one of the greatest drivers that the sport has witnessed, he is still eager to build on his 7 World titles record that he shares with Michael Schumacher. However, with Mercedes not at the top of their game this season, one record might be slipping through his fingers.

Hamilton, however, doesn’t seem too disappointed about it. Speaking to the media ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, he remarked, “I don’t really care about records, in general.”

He then went on to explain, “I am not focused on the record. I am, of course, trying to get the win this year but the record is not important to me.”

However, he is as motivated as ever to race and fight on track, despite grid penalties coming his way this Sunday.
