Three podiums back to back! A dreamy start to the season has Fernando Alonso vibing on the grid, with only a few drivers standing between him and his 33rd career win. He’s all focused and ready to push until the last lap or run if he must. But what comes next is the apparent nightmare for him and Aston Martin, and that is the three-week-long break before we go racing again in Baku.

So why a nightmare? Because Fernando Alonso is absolutely not liking the break. He has plans laid out to climb up places on the podium. For the workaholic that he is, he doesn’t want to rest and gets things moving quickly as his patience for the 33rd win gets thinner by the day. His working regime is quite evident by the fact that even at the age of 41, he continues to thrive after making a comeback to the pinnacle of motorsport two years ago.

The break, which got elongated following the dropping of the Chinese GP, is a tough one to pass. Speaking during a press conference at the Australian GP, the Spaniard was quoted by Soymotor, saying, “I don’t like the spring break, I prefer to keep running. We will have to spend a lot of time in the factory and obviously we will use these three weeks to prepare for the next race and review the first three. In my case, it is a new team. There are things we have to work on, but it is better to do it on the circuit.”

The next three races, in Baku, Miami, and Imola, might end up shuffling the grid more than we think. With potential big upgrades from every other team, Baku will dictate the momentum for the remaining crucial parts of the season.

Fernando Alonso tipped for an iconic win in Monaco

Red Bull’s prowess this year is second to none. What they can do with the straight-line speed has been seen by everyone as Max Verstappen flew past the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton. So, to counter this, the teams are banking on the track, where straight-line speed won’t play a bigger role. Hence, a victory for Fernando Alonso is on the cards in Monaco.

The 41-year-old has conquered one of the slowest circuits on the season, Monaco, twice. Thus, he’ll certainly have the upper hand going into the seventh round of the season. And tipping him for the win is his boss, Mike Krack.

As quoted by GP Fans from Marca, Krack said, “I think there are some tracks where the combination of this driver (Alonso) with this car may still be more magical. Come on, we’ll try Monaco. We have shortcomings on very long straights. It’s no secret. We’ve seen it and we have to work on it a lot. On tracks where this doesn’t matter so much is where we can have more confidence. But being fast in these races isn’t everything.”
