Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen were one of the most fierce driver pairs during their time. The two were good friends and even better drivers. The future of Red Bull looked very prominent with the duo. However, Daniel’s shocking decision to leave Red Bull for Renault (now Alpine) in 2018 hasn’t worked out well for the Aussie.

Daniel later joined McLaren in what turned out to be an even worse decision. He endured a tough 2-year spell there before he mutually terminated his contract with the Papaya team.

Ricciardo’s situation has been tough for many people to accept, given his jolly nature and always-smiling personality. However, his former teammate Max Verstappen has called out the Honey Badger for his career choices.

Verstappen said, “Daniel comes across as good and smiles a lot, but at the end of the day it’s not about the laughs, it’s about the performance. [He] has certainly delivered that in the past, but in F1 you are only as good as your last race.”

He further added, “In retrospect you cannot ignore that [whether he made wrong career choice]. It would have been better for him if he had stayed with RB longer at the time.”

Lewis Hamilton takes a “Kardashian” jibe at Red Bull and Max Verstappen despite a dominant season

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen went neck-to-neck last year for the world championship. The Dutchman emerged victorious in the end. However, their season thus far has been completely opposite. The Dutchman blew away his competition in one of the most dominant seasons in F1.

However, Red Bull’s dominant season has also come with controversies. Lewis Hamilton has further gone into it to say, “I mean, it feels like a bit of a Kardashian show happening here. It’s pretty hilarious, some of the stuff that I’ve heard over the past few days has been so entertaining.”
