The US Grand Prix proved to be a spectacle both on and off the racetrack. With an amazing battle till the very last lap of the race, Verstappen and Hamilton showed the F1 fans a Championship battle that had been missing from the sport ever since Mercedes established their dominance in the F1 hybrid engine era in 2014.

But what got the fans talking on social media was not just the back-and-forth between the two Championship rivals as they crossed the finishing line with Hamilton in P2 and Verstappen winning the race. Instead, the number of celebrities that turned up at the COTA for yesterday’s race was the talk to the town for today!

The celebrities made sure the US Grand Prix was a bling fest for the fans

The US Grand Prix in The Circuit of the Americas, Texas, saw a huge footfall of over a hundred thousand American F1-lovers. The FIA is overjoyed with Formula 1 finally getting widespread popularity in the USA, and their joy knew no bounds as so many celebrities turned up for the event.

As the celebrities made their way into the paddocks, the cameras captured Hollywood actor Ben Stiller, golfer Rory McIlroy, tennis star Serena Williams, and many more personalities grace the Grand Prix with their presence.

In fact, a funny incident happened at the US GP as Megan Thee Stallion, the famous Billboard-Chart-topping rapper, was escorted into the COTA by her bodyguards. Martin Brundle crossed paths with her and asked a question to which her bodyguards said he couldn’t ask such things to her. Then, Brundle said, “Oh I can, ‘cuz I just did!“.

Shaquille O’Neal stole the show at the Circuit of the Americas

While fans were still reeling from the after-effects of an amazing Championship-worthy race between Verstappen and Hamilton, they were in for yet another surprise at the COTA. Just when the prize distribution ceremony was about to begin, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal made his entry in an opulent fashion.

The four-time NBA Champion presented the awards to podium-holders Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Sergio Perez. It was heartwarming to see Lewis embrace Shaquille once the ceremony was over. It showed how F1 and NBA can cross paths and give the fans a beautiful moment of sportsmanship.
