When you have to race and compete for 9-10 months a year, it is difficult to respond to fans and gifts. And when you consider a driver like Lewis Hamilton, imagine the volume of fan messages or gifts he might be receiving. As a result, he may have failed to notice one special gift from the late famous singer David Bowie.

Lewis Hamilton received two guitars from David Bowie, sometime before the singer passed away. Lewis was unaware of the same as it was an anonymous gift from Bowie with no letter or message. Hamilton later discovered that Bowie was a fan, and he posted several videos on his Instagram addressing the same.
As per the Independent, Hamilton found out about this gift was from David Bowie in 2021. Hamilton imminently posted a video of him playing one of the guitars. He apologized for his mistakes while playing, though he was playing it decently, going low on the fretboard.

His post captioned, “Excuse all the mistakes, I’m far from good. But this is [the] first take playing this guitar that David Bowie sent to me some years ago.”
“I love this guitar and will cherish it forever. I never got to say thank you [to] him or his family so if they see this, thank you so much for this. Love.”
It was a rare and serene moment for Lewis to honor Bowie’s appreciation toward him.

Hamilton has always been a guitar player to some extent. Besides this, he also plays the piano as part of his love for music.
Lewis Hamilton and his Passion for Music
The number of singers and rappers, Lewis Hamilton is friends with is probably beyond comparison. It just shows how passionately he follows the music industry. He admitted his passion for music while appearing on the Late Late Show with James Corden in 2015.
When Corden asked him if he is looking to release any of his soundtracks, Hamilton stunned him by saying he wishes to. The Mercedes driver told how he has played some tracks to Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

Upon hearing this, Corden was shocked and asked what did he actually play. To this, Lewis replied it was sort of a mixture of tunes inspired by the Weeknd and some stuff from Drake.
Post that, they had some conversation about how Lewis can actually produce some rap or country music. All in all, Hamilton summed up by saying that music is a way for him to express himself. And because he is in F1 most of the time amongst corporate sponsors and teams, it is not possible for him to be himself.
