In 2022, Max Verstappen displayed one of the most dominant runs we have ever seen in Formula 1. Despite starting off the season well, Charles Leclerc could only manage a runner-up position, that too by a whisker. However, when it came to getting one up over his rival, he chose the most cheeky occasion.

As Red Bull struggled to cope with the car’s weight issues earlier on in the season, Ferrari and Charles Leclerc cashed in on the opportunity. The Monegasque won two races from the first three fixtures in the season. At one point, Leclerc was 46 points ahead of the eventual champion. However, as the season progressed, the Prancing Horse ran out of steam.

Charles Leclerc chooses the best gift to get back at Max Verstappen

As Christmas is approaching, Formula 1 did a secret Santa between the F1 drivers. Each driver took the opportunity to either give a wholesome gift or a hilarious one to their counterpart. As Charles Leclerc pulled out a random chit, he got none other than grid rival Max Verstappen.

He said, “He already has his big gift for Christmas, but I’ll think of something.”

As fans wondered what Charles was going to gift Max, F1 released a video on their YouTube channel of drivers reacting to their gifts. Before Max unwrapped his present, he knew it was going to be a gaming CD. Despite that, he was caught off guard and left in splits.

“This must be something to play for sure. Must be FIFA or something,” Max guessed. “It’s F1. That’s a nice one. I definitely know from who it is. It’s a nice one, Charles, you did well.”

The reason he knew it was from Charles was that the cover of the game had just Charles’ photos on it, instead of the three drivers. The gift came with a note that Max read out, “Sounds very official- one edition for my biggest fan. Yeah, that’s good.”

When they asked the Red Bull champion if it was the real cover, he replied, “No, no, they photoshopped it.”

Max may have got a hilarious prank gift, but he was pretty generous when it was his turn to return the favor.

Max turns secret Santa for Mick Schumacher

When Max pulled out his chit, he got Mick Schumacher. He told he was happy with that one and as it turned out, the Dutchman had quite some plans.

Often called the Dutch Lion, Max Verstappen gifted Mick Schumacher a stuffed lion and the adoption papers of a real lion. Reading the certificate, Mick told, “This is to certify that Mick Schumacher has adopted King, the lion.”

Despite reading the certificate, Mick could not believe it was real. He asked, “Is it actually a lion I’ve adopted? So I can actually go see it? I can pet it, play fetch?”
