“I’ll Just Be a Fanboy Next Year…”: Daniel Ricciardo Pledges Allegiance to Lando Norris in Tear-Jerking Speech to McLaren F1

Daniel Ricciardo is all set to race for the final time with McLaren. The broad infectious smile, and the peculiar way of celebrating a win, all will be missing in F1 for at least a year. This morning, McLaren shared an emotional post where the Honey Badger is seen thanking for the hospitality he received at the British racing team.

The 33-year-old will leave the papaya family after a disappointing stint of 2 years. Ricciardo joined McLaren in 2021 partnering Lando Norris. The Honey Badger was unable to show his magic for two years and has been ousted by the British racing team. Currently, there are no seats available for the eight times race winner on the grid.

Daniel Ricciardo knows how tough competition in the pinnacle of motorsport can be in the upcoming years. Amidst all this, he took a chance and thanked the entire McLaren family for the amazing hospitality he received for his 2 year run with them. The Woking-based team shared a post on their Twitter handle, where the Australian was seen getting teary and emotional.

During the speech, he said, “First and foremost, thank you. We’ve had an incredible high over the two years, but also a lot of, yeah, a lot of tougher days and a lot of struggles.”

“I’ll just be a fanboy next year, just supporting and cheering. Seeing if Lando [Norris] can find few more podiums for us. I’ll race my little heart out and hopefully, I look forward to the rest of the weekend.

Ricciardo can arguably charm anyone with his personality. His infectious smile and performances throughout the journey have helped him get a lot of followers. After the video surfaced on the internet, the ex-Red Bull driver’s fans took to the social media platform and filled it with their love.

Since Ricciardo joined McLaren, there has been an immense growth in his fan following. Now Ricciardo will be leaving them a year earlier than expected. The Jolly Australian has seen all the ups and downs in his career and now will be bidding farewell after the last race of season 2022.

This year was no different from the last one. The honey badger wasn’t able to show his quick moves again and collected only 35 points so far. Although most of the fans don’t care about his track results and they are going to miss their beloved driver.

Fans are getting emotional as their favorite driver wouldn’t be seen on the track. And only Ricciardo knows what’s going on in his mind. Will he come with his batteries fully charged or will leave the F1 track forever?
