Well, if there’s a power couple in the Formula 1 paddock, then it’s got to be Toto and Susie Wolff. Susie, Toto Wolff‘s second wife, has become synonymous with the Austrian, and their relationship has often been the reason so many F1 fans have had their hearts melted on multiple occasions. Wolff isn’t as comfortable a driver as he is a manager. Irrespective, he can be termed as an even jittery passenger. By his own admission, Wolff has been someone that has almost coerced his wife from handing over the driving duties to him every time they get into a car. And while in the beginning, it was cumbersome for Susie to abide by, one Lewis Hamilton moment changed her mind.
During Wolff’s appearance on the BBC Radio 4 show ‘Desert Island Discs’, Wolff revealed, “[Susie] said to me that she can live with it since she saw me being full of panic whilst being in the passenger seat with Lewis Hamilton on a race track. If you can’t trust the seven-time world champion, then it’s OK to not trust who is driving. It’s my problem, not the driver’s problem!”
Susie might feel better now that she knows Wolff doesn’t even trust Hamilton’s driving. But for Toto Wolff, the duo is just the same.
