“I Will Never Be Satisfied”: Awaiting 2022 Crown, Max Verstappen Remains Cynical of Continued F1 Successes With a Warning to Red Bull

Max Verstappen shared some thoughts on his performance in a recent interview with Naomi Schiff. The Dutch Lion finished in P7 in his latest outing at the Singapore Grand Prix.

The Dutchman is chasing his second consecutive title. Winning the Singapore Grand Prix would have gotten him a step closer to not only the title but also to the record for the most consecutive wins. However, all his efforts eventually ended in vain. This left Verstappen heartbroken.

In the interview, Max said, “(I’ve) become more all rounded I would say, but I hope it’s not the best, ever.”

“I mean, I still want to improve. I still want to do better in the coming years, but I mean that also depends on how competitive the car is.”

He slightly warned his team, saying, “I mean, you can drive really well, but if you don’t have the car for it, you cannot really show it sometimes. But at the moment I’m just really enjoying what I’m doing.”

“But I will never be satisfied. I always want more,” he concluded.

With a bittersweet Singapore GP behind them, Red Bull still has accusations against them for breaching the budget cap allowances. But this will not take away Max’s title, says Christian Horner.

Could Max Verstappen lose his title amid speculations of Red Bull’s budget cap breach?

With the recent rumors of the team exceeding last year’s $145 million budget cap, Red Bull seems to deny all claims as false. They believe that they have not, in any way, exceeded their budgets. In addition to this, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is confident that Max will indeed retain his title.

He told Autosport, “No, I’m absolutely confident in our submission.”

“It’s been through a process. It went in, in March, in terms of [being] signed off fully by our auditors who are obviously one of the big three. And we believe that we are comfortably within the cap.”

“So the FIA are following their process. We expect hopefully, and potentially this week, to hear not just us, but all of the teams, the outcome of that process”

Having said that, FIA is yet to come out with an official statement. Ferrari, Red Bull’s immediate rival this year, is rather upset about the possibility of the breach, and therefore wants Red Bull to be held accountable with maximum punishment if the claims are in fact true.

How things will turn out for Red Bull is currently uncertain. Will they strip Max Verstappen off his title?
