Lewis Hamilton has finished the season with yet another championship under his belt. This was the last year of his Mercedes contract, and everyone is waiting for them to close out another deal with Hamilton.
We have heard a lot about what Hamilton wants from his next contract. However, he had clarified that he does not want to talk about the contract negotiation during the season. Instead, he wanted to focus on his on-track performance and winning races.
Now that the season is over and Hamilton has recovered from COVID, the question is about when the confirmation will come through. After the Abu Dhabi race, Hamilton stated that he hopes to have a deal before the turn of the year.

“Hopefully over the next couple of weeks,” he answered on the official announcement. “we’d love to get it done before Christmas I think.”
He further clarified, “I plan to be here next year, I want to be here next year. I think us as a team have more to do together, more to achieve both in the sport and even more outside the sport.
“So yeah, I hope we can begin this week discussions and hopefully get it tied up before Christmas”

Lewis Hamilton will aim for his eighth world championship
Lewis Hamilton sealed his seventh world championship this season after his win at the Imola Grand Prix. He equaled Schumacher‘s record of seven world championships. Moreover, he also broke Schumacher’s record of most race wins.
The Mercedes-Hamilton partnership has absolutely dominated the year. He joined Mercedes in 2013 and has since won six world championships, with his first championship coming with McLaren.

Lewis Hamilton clarified that he has a bigger aim in Formula 1; Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has backed him with his purpose of fighting racism. However, when it comes to racing, he will certainly focus on that record-breaking eighth world championship and top the era off with another dominating performance.
