A confident Charles Leclerc, who has always set higher goals, once stated, “I want to bring Ferrari back in the title fight.” However, the Monegasque, who is well-known for being one of the sport’s finest drivers, appears to be having a tremendously difficult year. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old refuses to give up and is prepared to do whatever it takes to reclaim the Ferrari‘s glory.

If we believe Charles Leclerc, his current season has gotten off to the worst start. On the contrary, the Monegasque had one of the finest starts of his career last year, where he had a temporary title bout with Max Verstappen. And if we look more closely, Leclerc had terrible weekends up until the Azerbaijan Grand Prix; it was only in Baku that he ended the weekend on the podium twice.

The Tifosi believed that this event would herald the Prancing Horse’s comeback. The situation didn’t significantly improve, though, as Leclerc had a miserable weekend in Spain in store for him after his home race. At the Circuit de Barcelona, Catalunya Leclerc could only conjure a P12 finish. However, he gained a position after Yuki Tsunoda got a five-second time penalty.

While Max Verstappen, his title rival from the previous year, continues to exhibit his outstanding form, the Monegasque is far behind in the driver’s standings. Verstappen, who is at 170 points, has more than 4 times as many points as Leclerc, who is now at 42. However, when Leclerc was asked by the Italian newspaper Gazetta.it whether he misses fighting like his bouts from the previous year. The disheartened, Leclerc replied, “I miss fighting for the win. Whether it’s against Max or against other opponents, it doesn’t matter.”

Later, while stamping his F1 expectations of getting back to winning ways, the Ferrari star said, “As I’ve often said and demonstrated, I just want to win. Second, third or fourth place doesn’t interest me. I’ll do everything to get back on the top step of the podium as soon as possible, with Ferrari.”

Despite the fact that Leclerc wants to return Ferrari to winning, it is indisputable that his weekend was ruined by substandard performance even with the improved SF23 that was ready to compete in Barcelona. As a result of the grave worries, a Dutch racing driver has urged Ferrari to “drop the bomb” on Charles Leclerc.

The Monegasque failed to enter Q2 for the first time since Monaco qualifying in 2019. His continuous struggles and string of DNFs at the start of the season have caused worry among everyone, with one professional racer recommending that the Scuderia should cut ties with the Monegasque.

Tom Coronel, a Dutch racing driver, claimed that he thinks the Ferrari can only return to winning if a fresh perspective is introduced in light of Leclerc’s rumors about joining Mercedes. And the racing driver named Lewis Hamilton to replace Leclerc. In addition, the businessman feels that Ferrari should pay the seven-time champion $20 million more to join the Maranello-based squad.

As per Formula1news.co.uk, Coronel said, “They have to make a choice at Ferrari that shakes things up. A rumour is really cool, but for all I care I think they should pay Lewis (Hamilton) 20 million too much to get him. Then at least something happens in that team to give them a bit of positivity. They need someone like Lewis because the package they have is wrong. So start with this–drop the bomb. Because they need something new.”
