Sebastian Vettel is in a downward negative spiral in his career. Several instances in his season so far see the champion fighting a midfield battle. Yet, being the cheerful person he is, he will never express his sorrow.
Considering the fact that Vettel is in a state of zero satisfaction from his racing, he should indulge in happy memories. Well, his visit to Istanbul Park contributes to those happy memories that see him through this season.
“I am happy to be going back to Istanbul Park, a circuit that holds many happy memories and some less so,” expressed Sebastian Vettel.

The German does not have much to look back to this season. Caught between Haas and Alfa Romeo at P18, Vettel still has nightmares from those races. For dreams, he will have to rest back on his initial days.
“You could say my Formula 1 career began here in 2006, as I made the headlines setting the fastest time in what was my second Friday free practice session appearance with BMW Sauber,” recalled the 4 time champion.

Sebastian Vettel remembers Istanbul Park from 9 years back
Sebastian Vettel was the victor when F1 last visited Turkey in 2011. He was on his winning spree with Red Bull, moving forward to his four World championships. However, that is long gone, and since his move to Ferrari, Vettel has not touched a single championship.
Coming back to the track, Sebastian Vettel still remembers it in and out. Being the experienced driver he is, it is natural for him to have the track maps at his fingertips.
“It’s a very interesting track which is very nice to drive. There are several changes of elevation that are much more severe than they appear on television, as well as some very exciting sections,” elaborated Ferrari no. 5.
Judging from his expression, Sebastian will enjoy his weekend at Istanbul Park. However, his chances to be on the podium again as he was a few years ago are slim. Yet, that will not stop him from enjoying his favorite turns around the circuit.

“And I think that those drivers who have never been here before will also like it right from the start,” concluded the champion.
