The Emilia Romagna GP was full of nail-biting moments, which ended with the Red Bull duo finishing 1-2. Lando Norris finished third instead of Charles Leclerc after an incident. But even before he crossed the line, Norris predicted the race outcome when he saw the yellow flag.

The Monegasque driver was the only hope for Ferrari to bag a podium after Carlos Sainz’s retirement on lap 1. Throughout the race, it was a battle between Checo and Leclerc for second place. However, the Mexican kept Leclerc behind him.

During Lap 53, Leclerc tried too hard to overtake Perez and spun his car into the barriers at the chicane. So, he dropped to ninth place while Lando Norris, who was behind Leclerc, got into the podium place.

The McLaren driver had a great session in the Imola GP. He was in P4 for most of the race after Carlos Sainz retired. It seemed like he was going to finish fourth. But he ended up on the podium after Leclerc spun his car.

After the race, Lando revealed he predicted the yellow flag was for one of the Red Bull or Ferrari drivers ahead of him. Lando said, “I saw the yellow flag, and I knew that Sergio and Charles were the two cars ahead. So, I was not hoping it was one of them, but I wouldn’t mind if it was one of them, but it turned out to be. I guess fourth was still gonna be an amazing position and great result for us, better than we were expecting for the weekend.”

Norris was worried about his tires

The Young Brit finished P5 during the Saturday sprint race in Imola. But he was struggling with the soft tire throughout the sprint. So, Lando opted for medium tires, which helped him throughout the race.

In the post-race interview, Lando reported, “The race was tough like George was only 6 seconds behind or 4.5 seconds. I still had to look after my tires it was the longest stint on medium. Because yesterday I struggled so much to do 20 on soft. But 40 what we did today on medium I didn’t think it was gonna be possible.”
