Dr. Marko’s shoulders weighs heavy with enormous pressure this season. Besides finalizing a driver behind Max Verstappen at Red Bull, he would also have to look into the case of Daniil Kvyat at AlphaTauri.
The Russian has been putting up a good battle on track ever since rumors of AlphaTauri dropping him surfaced. At Imola, he was very close to his first podium this year. If not for Daniel Ricciardo, AlphaTauri may have seen their livery at P3.
Yet, Kvyat knows that his P4 at Imola is not enough to please Dr. Marko. Yuki Tsunoda, the Red Bull Academy driver, is under talks to take Daniil’s cockpit at AlphaTauri. However, Kvyat has not given up on the season yet.

“I have no illusions that things are difficult.
“In fact, that the chances are slim, sure,” admitted the Russian. He understands that several greats have been born from the Academy program and that the cycle will run its course.
“Obviously Red Bull has their young driver programme which has to work and has to be promoted. It’s always been like that and I don’t see any reason why it should change for me.
“But I’m given this opportunity, and there are races to go still,” expressed Kvyat.
Daniil Kvyat was a brilliant racer back in the day. In 2015, he had defeated his teammate Daniel Ricciardo in the championship by three points. However, he fell weak for the Red Bull pressure and got demoted back to Toro Rosso.

Daniil Kvyat has other options in mind for F1 future
The Russian has realized that he needs to pull up his socks. He believes that though hopes are slim; it gives him no excuse to slouch back. Kvyat is well aware that F1 is an uncertain sport altogether and the tables can turn anytime. However, performance needs to be top class always.
“It’s important to keep pushing until the very last moment. It will always be remembered, it will always be [as] something plus. And, you never know what can happen also inside Red Bull.
“That’s the only thing I focus on,” concluded the Alpha Tauri racer.
Daniil Kvyat underlines the importance of living in the present. He states that the primary reason he delivered at Imola was that he didn’t have the ghosts of his future around him.

“I’m only thinking about how to deliver the best for myself and for the team.
“And also, especially because we still have quite a big chance in the constructors’ championship to move one position ahead,” concluded the Russian.

Daniil Kvyat does not appear pessimistic about his future. Even if he cannot get a seat, he knows he can be a good sub driver in the grid. Well, if he has such a bright approach to an impending dark future, then light will shine on the Russian very soon.
