Mick Schumacher is in love with the USA! The Haas F1 driver reveals his love for the country is not only because of the American connection of his team, but the love and kindness he gets from the people of the country has enamored him.

The German driver also has a separate connection to the country. Interestingly, his father, the great Michael Schumacher, owns a ranch in Texas and the young German often spends his time there.

But ahead of the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, which is the home race for the Haas F1 team, he recalled a funny incident that occurred to him involving a policeman.

The German driver explained why he likes the country so much and what fascinates him about America.

“It’s mainly because it’s different. I wouldn’t say I’m a one-sided person – I’m very versatile in the stuff that I like. For example, Australia is a place I love, it could be the mountains in the north of Norway or even Switzerland but in America… My sister says that the sky seems bigger in the States, and it’s true in a way!” said Schumacher.

He then mentioned how recently a police officer stopped him but also let him look inside his police car.

“Out there, it’s flat and where we are in Texas is very flat. The people are always very nice – I got stopped by a police officer last year and he was super kind and let me have a look at his car and there’s just a nice feeling to it,” said the Haas driver.

Maybe the familiarity of the place will help Schumacher on the track as well. The German driver really needs to up his game to match the level of his teammate Kevin Magnussen this season. He really has a car that is competitive and can give him points on regular occasions.

Mick just needs to cut out the mistakes and become one with the car for a race weekend. Hopefully, all the off-track positivity can translate into his driving and help him adapt to the track faster.
