Sebastian Vettel signed with Aston Martin this season after a tough season with Ferrari. The German won no race last season; however, he has long claimed the hearts of the F1 community. Because of his calm and humble demeanor, the Aston Martin driver is considered to be one of the nicest drivers on the grid.
The team’s principal, Otmar Szafnauer, shared another story about Vettel bringing that energy to his new team. He recalled the time German visited his home with a thoughtful gift and was being an absolute gentleman.
“He can easily go buy a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers but that’s not him. He’ll come with ‘I baked this loaf of bread’,” said Szafnauer.

He also pointed out, “He really, really likes British humour. It’s not to find a common thread, it’s just who he is. So far he’s fitted in really, really well here.”

A highly motivated Sebastian Vettel, claims Szafnauer
Sebastian Vettel had a difficult season last year. He finished outside top-10 and the termination of his contract with Ferrari was unfortunate. However, Szafnauer explained that the German still has the motivation to make the best out of this season.
“I can attest to the fact that he’s really motivated. But I don’t think the motivation is to prove the nay-sayers wrong. I think it’s just how he is. I think he’s just driven to do the best he can,” said the Aston Martin boss.

The motivation does not limit itself to the German. Having a four-time world champion onboard has the team also excited and motivated. They are working hard to build Sebastian a car that can help him get on top of the podium once again.
“The partners, the employees, all of us are going to be lifted by the fact he’s won four times and he knows what it takes,” Szafnauer pointed out.
