The 2023 season has come with too many new developments in F1. The biggest among them is Aston Martin’s newfound success with Fernando Alonso at the center of it. He has almost made it a habit of finishing on the podium, no matter what. He repeated the feat at the recently concluded Australian GP and addressed a related question in the most boss way possible. Needless to say, fans are in splits with his response.

In the season opener in Bahrain, Alonso started well but was hit by his teammate Lance Stroll from behind. The incident saw him drop to P7 from P5 and many felt the dream of seeing their favorite driver on the podium had taken a huge hit. However, the car did not take any damage and continued until the end, cruising the 2x champion to the P3 finish. That perhaps is a testament to the build quality of the car that Aston Martin has put together.

Alonso once again stationed himself comfortably into P3 and was battling Lewis Hamilton for the 2nd. That went on for almost the entirety of the race. However, the race restart after Kevin Magnussen’s crash-induced red flag was far from smooth for the Oviedo-born. Carlos Sainz tagged him from behind, making him spin around, losing places quickly. Fernando once again did not take any damage though.

Luck favored him as the incident caused a pile-up, resulting in red flags coming out again. As it turned out, it all happened before the race leader Max Verstappen reached the first corner, causing the next restart to happen with the status quo restored.

That begs the question, ‘How well is the AMR23 built?’ The man himself has the best response, “I am very attractive. But our car is strong enough. Doesn‘t matter if they keep touching us.”
