Luck and Esteban Ocon – an amalgamation that is yet to be solidly formed. Like every other team except Red Bull, Alpine too has been having a turbulent season. There might be repeated efforts to make some progress, but none have been yielding consistently. Even if they are, other teams like McLaren and even Williams for that matter, are doing much better. Thus, belittling their progress on the racetrack. And this is proving very difficult for Ocon to deal with. But his fans have a strong belief that the Hungaroring will be kind to him.
After a slow start to the 2023 season, Alpine did some good work that empowered Ocon to a podium in Monaco. The following race in Spain was decent, with him getting P6. In Austria, he slid down to finishing P8. And at the British GP, he started in P13. But his A523 couldn’t even take the stress of finishing even a third of the race. In Lap 10, he had to retire the car owing to a mechanical failure.
Onwards and upwards.

However, he was still, “smiling through the pain”. After the race, he posted a photo on his Twitter handle of a happy him waving to the British crowd. He captioned it: “Onwards and upwards. Thank you all for your support this weekend.🇬🇧❤️” Fans quickly read through the lines and knew that the French racer was hopeful for the future but could use some support to get through this challenging time.
His fans sympathized with him and gave their best wishes so that he could get some relief after a dismal outing at Silverstone.
Fans Shower Love On Esteban Ocon as Focus Shifts to the Hungarian GP
Esteban Ocon’s journey to the pinnacle of motorsport is a classic ‘Rags to Riches’ story. He even has been outperforming his more experienced teammate, Pierre Gasly consistently. He has almost double the points (31) as Gasly (16). But luck has not been on his side recently. After starting P13 at Silverstone, he did not even get a chance to fight for points as his car gave up by Lap 10.
When such mechanical problems pop up, the driver can really do nothing. It is a team sport, after all. After the Frenchman posted the hopeful post with the inspiring 3-worded message, fans were very kind to him in the comments section. Here’s how they showed their love for their idol:
always Estie🩷 it wasn't anywhere near the best week for the team but we can do it

Fortunately, for him, Alpine, and all other teams for that matter, there is a gap of 2 weeks before the Hungarian GP takes place. By then, can Alpine solve whatever issues they had with the car? And if they do, will Esteban Ocon make the best use of that opportunity for recovery?
