Haas driver Mick Schumacher is quite a music enthusiast. The 2020 F2 champion listens to many genres, ranging from country music to rock, rap, you name it.

In a recent interview with NME, he revealed that he was so influenced after watching a John Mayer concert that he decided to learn guitar. Aside from that, he also talked about seeing celebrities who visit the F1 Paddocks to watch the race from afar.

Recalling one such moment when he wanted to meet, H-Town Hottie, Megan Thee Stallion, he said, “Last year, Megan Thee Stallion came to the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) race, so that was cool. She had huge bodyguards next to her so I didn’t say hi! I don’t listen to her music that much but I hear it about the place – most of the songs are TikTok trends!”

When asked about his favorite karaoke song, he admitted to not being a fan and that he gets a bit shy. However, he made some revelations about McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo’s singing skills. He said, “Daniel Ricciardo likes a good jam, though I wouldn’t say his singing… well, it’s Daniel”.

Talking about a song that reminds him of home, he said that while his home is in Switzerland, his family owns a ranch in Texas. He said that country music makes him feel that he is in Texas. He chose Chayce Beckham’s ’23’.

Mick Schumacher takes over the ‘F1 Tracks’ playlist

In 2019, Formula One started a weekly feature called ‘F1 Tracks’. Each week, a celebrity curates their ‘F1 Tracks’ playlist, which is made available to fans on leading music platforms. Mick recently took over the official F1 playlist.

Talking about the tracks he chose, he said that there were a few country songs in there that remind him of his sister Gina and their US ranch.

Mick also talked about trying hard to master Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’. Further talking about the playlist, he said, “There’s some Tame Impala, Frank Ocean and GIVEON in there as well – they’re artists I listen to a lot of at the moment and keep hitting repeat. Finally, ‘It Wasn’t Me’ by Shaggy – it should feature on everyone’s playlist, it’s a classic!”
