The Athletic recently did a feature piece on Pierre Gasly where the driver shares many details about his experience with F1. The one thing that caught many fans’ attention was the advice he received from Tony Parker. Pierre Gasly met Tony Parker for the first time in the United States and that’s when the driver asked the NBA player for some sportsman advice. Although Parker comes from a completely different sport, he has the understanding of how to be in the right state physically to take on any sport.

When Pierre Gasly and Tony Parker met in the USA, the driver asked the NBA legend for some advice as a sportsman. Gasly recollected his conversation with Parker, “When I was with Tony Parker, the first time I met him, I remember asking him, ‘Okay, what was the best investment as an athlete?” To this, Parker had an answer that would change Gasly’s life forever. Parker said, The best investment is to have a chef. This shows Parker’s dedication to eating healthy as a way to stay fit.

He continued to say, “Without a chef, I would have had a lot worse nutrition, my recovery would have not been as good, my longevity in the sport would have never been as close as what it was.” After hearing these words from Parker, Gasly understood the benefits of having a chef. Pierre told Athletic, “And as soon as I came back from the US, I got back to Europe — like literally the first day I got back – I was like, ‘Okay, I need to find a chef.'”
