The contract saga that Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have given us this year is worthy of their stature. That being said, after all the ifs and the buts, the dotted lines have been signed and Hamilton will be a Mercedes driver for 2024 and onwards. This is cause for celebration, right? And true to form, the banter and jokes have already begun.

It would’ve been a tense couple of months for all involved on both sides. Bashing out the logistics and money aspects in a relationship that has lasted over a decade can never be easy. However, as soon as the formalities were out of the way, the Hamilton camp didn’t take a single breath to pounce on the opportunity to finally break the ice! This time around, it was at the expense of the Silver Arrows’ supremo, Toto Wolff.

Obviously, the duo of Wolff and Hamilton would’ve felt relieved to see that the two have finally come to an agreement. But it was actually the 7x champion’s brother who stole the spotlight on his Instagram account just hours after the deal was finalized.

Nicolas Hamilton took to his official Instagram account to share a fake phone screenshot that seemingly showed an incoming call from Wolff. He captioned it, “Hmmm, Toto & @mercedesamgf1 want me to be teammate to big bro @lewishamilton for 2024 …. Should I pick up?”

Well, as it turns out, Nicolas may seriously be eyeing a seat at Mercedes!

Nicolas Hamilton isn’t going to fool us with a coy Instagram post. In reality, the 7x champion’s brother, who also happens to be a racing driver, has his eyes set on entering the sport, even if it is at his brother’s expense!

When F1’s official Instagram account posted a photo of the 2024 grid, Hamilton’s contract wasn’t finalized yet. That’s when Nicolas jumped into the comments section and hilariously quipped, “Lewis out, me in!”
