Sebastian Vettel was in a different realm despite the struggles of the Aston Martin car last season. The Lion of Singapore showed in his final few F1 races why he is a 4-time world champion. Even after consistent setbacks, Vettel persisted to make his final season memorable. Seeing this brilliant commitment, Aston boss Mike Krack was quite impressed with Seb. Recently, he also spoke about how it’s a shame that the German driver has retired.

In an interview with Motorsport Magazin.com, Krack praised Vettel’s top form in 2022. He said, “I think so, he [Sebastian Vettel] tasted blood. When things went up in Singapore and Suzuka [car performance-wise], you could tell he was happy. When you heard him on the radio, you knew right away that he was there. He was sharp, he was really in the flow.” [translated via Google]

Krack cited how there were a lot of setbacks for Sebastian in the first half of the season. Yet, the German driver did not let his head down. Mike further added on he was always there for the team and his teammate, Lance Stroll. He concluded, “That was very exemplary. I’m glad he’s where he is – but it’s a shame he decided to retire. I hope he regrets it.”

Considering his top form of 2022, there is still some racing fire left in the German for sure.

The Best Drives of Sebastian Vettel in F1

The story of Sebastian Vettel started with an unexpected charismatic drive in the USA. Replacing Robert Kubica at the 2007 US GP in Indianapolis, Seb was a young dynamic racer, looking to make his mark at the top tier. And so he did. Qualifying 7th on the grid, the German prodigy finished 8th in the race for BMW Sauber. It was just a teaser of Vettel’s prolific potential on his F1 debut.

A year later, he got his moment in the sun (more like in the rain) at Monza. Defying all odds, in a Toro Rosso, Sebastian won his maiden Grand Prix in F1 from the pole position. It was an unreal result that no one expected. But, Vettel managed to do the impossible, showing that he was a special talent, not to be ignored.

About 4 years later from this maiden win, fighting for his 3rd consecutive world title, Vettel once again showed immense speed and tenacity. He finished on the podium from the back of the grid in Abu Dhabi. After this, Seb looked good to clinch the 2012 championship in Brazil.

But, it did not come easy to the German driver. Spinning around on Lap 1 at Interlagos, Vettel had to claw his way back up the field in tricky conditions. His rival, Fernando Alonso was in a good position to win the title. Still, Seb managed to nip him by just 3 points to become a triple world champion.
