Remember when we were under lockdown during COVID-19, trying to find stuff to do to pass time? Like us, the F1 drivers were also stuck in their respective residences. Even at that time, the most chaotic duo of Formula 1 found a hilarious way to entertain the audience. Back in 2020, a live Q&A session was organized by Ricciardo’s team Renault and during the chat Mclaren’s Lando Norris popped in, which made the entire situation hilarious.
Lando Norris is one of the most talented F1 Drivers. The Briton entered the world of F1 when he was only 19. Since his debut, McLaren’s young gun has been popular among the masses for his driving style. One more reason for his popularity is his online presence. As things stand, the 23-year-old has a high interest in gaming and virtual racing.

So back in 2020, when Daniel Ricciardo was having a live Q&A session with his then-team Renault (now Alpine) about his daily routine with family, the Mclaren driver popped in the live chat.
As soon as the Briton entered the chat, Ricciardo said, “He needs new name. I feel he’s like the tech-nerd of modern-day society. I’m not trying to be mean… but he’s everywhere on all the social platforms.”
Lando Norris was quick to reply as he said, “Hahah really, I got bored and left by that point…” and “more of a compliment I would say.”
Although the duo failed to create magic in the British racing team, for whatever time they stayed together, fun was guaranteed for the fans. That being said, things didn’t really end well for the Aussie. And a former champion seems to know why.
Damon Hill believes Lando Norris ended Daniel Ricciardo’s career at McLaren
Daniel Ricciardo’s contract was terminated by the British racing team owing to his disappointing stint of two years. The Honey Badger, who brought the team’s first win since 2012 at the Brazilian Grand Prix, seemed to struggle against the young Briton. Since the beginning of this season, Ricciardo was left trailing behind Norris and as the year came to an end, the Briton had a lead of 85 points.

Back in June this year, Damon Hill revealed how the words of Ricciardo got backfired on him. “When Daniel Ricciardo was signed, he came up to us in the paddock and he said [to Norris] ‘I’m going to end you’,” said Hill on the F1 Nation podcast.
“I remember thinking, ‘That is always a risky thing to say,’ because it looks like the other way around, that Daniel Ricciardo has been ended by Lando.”

The most chaotic duo has now been separated. With Daniel Ricciardo becoming Red Bull’s reserve, there are very few chances of him meeting the young Briton on the tracks, although their camaraderie can still be seen off the tracks.
