F1’s huge efforts in increasing the popularity of the sport in America are steadily coming to fruition. With a record number of audiences at the track and on TV, F1 looks set to become a phenomenon in the USA. Lewis Hamilton also experienced the same when he got a glimpse of this increased fandom in Los Angeles.

Hamilton revealed his delight at seeing how F1 has created a buzz around the world. And especially when the Mercedes driver frequently visits several cities in the US, he witnesses the same. Recently when he was in LA, Lewis met an American young girl who was part of this growing US fanbase.
As per PlanetF1, talking to Sky Sports F1, Lewis said, “I was at the airport in LA and some young girl came up to me and I was all covered up and she was like ‘Are you Lewis?’” He was amazed to see how she was elated to see him and revealed her new interest in F1.
Hamilton said, “She’s like ‘I’m a new fan to the sport. I’m coming out to Austin [for the US GP], I can’t wait, just bought my tickets, coming out with my husband.’ So it’s clearly lifting a lot of people’s spirits as sport does.”
The 7-time champion experiencing this excitement and fandom about F1 in Hollywood certainly points towards some great reception of F1 in the USA.

With 3 races in the country in 2023, F1 will be buzzing to set up a great show in America. Apparently, Las Vegas which hosts its first race might end up being a title decider too. So the US audience might get to see the world champion sealing his title in front of their eyes.

Many have questioned how 3 or more races in the USA might be too much. Although considering how great COTA in Austin is becoming, we can expect better from Miami and Las Vegas next year.
Austin has shown us some great racing battles in the last few years. The track is improving year after year with more excitement. Being the main United States GP, the race gathers record viewership every year. With over 400k fans flocking over to COTA in 2022, many expect the on-track attendance to breach the half-million mark in the coming years.

Meanwhile, Miami was decent in its debut year, we are yet to see the true potential of this track. Many fans hope that Miami should not end up as a difficult track to pass with few overtaking opportunities. Similarly, people are not sure about the same aspect of Las Vegas too.
Besides having the famous Strip as part of the circuit, Las Vegas has not turned a lot of attention to its track layout. With long straights and street-like corners, if Las Vegas can deliver a breathtaking race, fans would have their money and time’s worth.
