It is fair to say that 2020 overall, has been a good year for Mick Schumacher. In his second time of asking in the FIA F2 Championship, he has displayed strong performances ahead of his fellow rivals.
That obviously culminated in the Ferrari Drivers’ Academy (FDA), handing a chance to him and Callum Ilott practice debuts at the Nurburgring. But, the highly awaited opportunity never came as bad weather played spoilsport.
However, 2021 can still be an even better year for Mick, as he targets one of the F1 seats for next year. And with intrigue mounting over the empty ones at Haas, news could arrive sooner than later.

Mick Schumacher will feature in F1 next year, according to Ecclestone
Former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone believes that ‘Schumi Jr’ has some good qualities and can perform well. And come 2021, will be driving a Formula 1 car for one of the teams.
In an interview with SPORT1, Ecclestone is quoted as saying, “What I get is that he is a very nice boy who does a good job. He will drive in Formula 1 next year.”
“But don’t expect too much from him. His father’s story cannot be repeated.” (translated from Google Translate)
Certainly the last thing Mick Schumacher needs even before his career starts, is a comparison with his stalwart father. That only serves to create pressure for an upcoming young driver, which is never good.

Right now, things are looking good for Mick Schumacher in the F2 Championship. Ahead of the scheduled races in Bahrain, the young German leads Illott by 22 points in the standings.
The talk throughout this year is that Mick is one of the appealing options as part of the drivers’ market broader spectrum. Haas and Alfa Romeo have long been talked up as one of the possible options.
Even more so, after Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen announced their intentions to leave the team in 2021. But, the speculation surrounding Nikita Mazepin occupying one of the Haas seats, has also picked up pace in recent times.
