A big reason for excitement for the 2023 season comes from the fact that there are 3 drivers starting their rookie season. Each of these drivers has unique personality traits that make them relatable. In a recent interview, McLaren rookie Oscar Piastri revealed his favorite food items from different categories and the answer from each category exposed a blatant pattern that had fans in splits and coming up with the most hilarious puns.

Before the start of the season, as is the tradition, like many other drivers, Oscar too revealed his crash helmet design. The helmet sported some starkly contrasting colors with an Australian flag right behind the visor. It also had a ton of different sponsors’ names all over, but fans lamented an opportunity that Oscar missed. That opportunity was to put “Oscar Pastry” on the side, which fans felt would have made for a great pun on his name. That pun has now made a comeback as the Australian rookie revealed his beloved food items.

McLaren may be struggling on the track for the last few years, but their fan engagement game through social media is as strong as ever. The Papaya team recently put out an interview with Oscar where they asked him questions related to food.

Interviewer: Chocolate or Vanilla?

Oscar: Chocolate.

I: What’s your favorite food?

O: Chocolate.

I: What’s your favorite dessert?

O: Oh, chocolate souffle.

His response to the questions started a chain of puns and hilarious jokes among the fans on Instagram. Have a look at some of these reactions.
