Once known to be very aggressive on the track, ‘Mad Max’ Verstappen has calmed down a lot. When the Dutchman entered the 2022 season as the reigning champion, there was a noticeable maturity and patience in his conduct. As the super-talented Verstappen went on to break records and win his second title, former F1 driver Romain Grosjean opened up on him.

As per the report published by F1 Maximaal, Grosjean told to Sky Sports, “We already knew that Max was a super talented driver. His first championship just gave him a little something extra. He now has a certain self-assurance and calmness.”
“He’s still the Max we all know, because he’s still pushing the limit of his car, but he’s not going over the limit anymore,” further stated the Frenchman.
Although he was called Mad Max due to his on and off-track antics, the current IndyCar driver believes that the name no longer suits the champion.
Verstappen picked up his second back-to-back driver’s championship in Japan last month. Moreover, talking about performance, the 25-year-old driver has picked up 24 wins in two years as compared to 10 wins in all the years before.

The Red Bull car this season has had better straight-line speed than competitors Ferrari or Mercedes, as well as decent reliability. The Bulls were hard to catch on the straights as Verstappen and Perez started far off the order, but still managed to move up with ease.
Talking about this, the current Andretti Autosport driver stated, “Red Bull just has a great car, a great driver, and a great team. They were very dominant this year. Hopefully, Red Bull will be a bit more challenged in the future. You may be a fan of Max, but it’s just not fun if only one driver wins all races.'”
