Fernando Alonso lost the opportunity to win the Monaco GP after the team made a strategic error. Yet, the Villain of F1 protected his team by advising how it was the right decision at the time. However, after a closer analysis fans did realize that Aston Martin really did make an error. Now, Lewis Hamilton makes a statement similar to Toto Wolff’s. However, it contradicts Briton’s previous statements as fans dissect it to come up with their own conclusions. What is this conclusion?

Lewis Hamilton had an Austrian GP that he’d very much like to erase from his memory. The Briton started P5 and overtook Norris on Lap 1. However, it was a struggling town from then onwards as Hamilton kept breaching the track limits and eventually attracted a 5-second penalty. Falling down the grid, Hamilton started complaining about other drivers who were breaching the track limits. Toto Wolff came on the radio and said, “Lewis, the car is bad. We know. Please drive it.”

Lewis Hamilton after the race suggested that the car was just fighting itself. He said, “What problem? There was nothing wrong with the car. The car was fighting itself.” Hamilton also advised how his team took a lot of front wing off before the race because the rear end was very weak. However, the interesting thing is the fact that Lewis Hamilton kept complaining about the car not turning in and understeering from early on in the race.

Even if it was the front wing, the struggles were because of a setup error made by the team and not because of the car being slow. Many people suggest that Toto Wolff was just trying to downplay the issue and Lewis Hamilton joined in to protect the team. Let’s see what assumptions people have made.

Fans took to Twitter after hearing what Lewis Hamilton said about the W14 and the struggles. Some fans advised how he complained about the car not turning in on Lap 12 and that Hamilton is just trying to hide the problem.
