FormulaRacers, stating Formel1.de as the source, have put out a tweet on their handle, “Helmut Marko has revealed Alpha Tauri will likely keep their current driver lineup for 2023. Gasly already has a contract in place, and Tsunoda is expected to sign an extension.”

AlphaTauri, formerly known as Toro Rosso is the sister team to Red Bull and this news diminishes any hopes for the Frenchman to make a comeback to Red Bull in the near future.

How was the Red Bull journey for Pierre Gasly?

To sum it up in a sentence, it was bitter-sweet. When Daniel Ricciardo left Red Bull for Renault in 2019, Gasly joined in to partner Max Verstappen. However, Gasly had to leave as he failed to cope with the mounting pressure.

Gasly got outperformed by Verstappen on numerous occasions and, as a result, had to part ways to give way for Alex Albon in 2019 mid-season. Interestingly, Alex Albon also failed to put up an impressive performance alongside the Dutchman. This made the Gasly fans believe that Pierre Gasly might make a comeback to the team.
