In her feature with Vogue Netherlands, Kelly mentioned how Verstappen may react badly to one demand of hers. As per the Instagram post by Vogue Netherlands, she said, “If Max [Verstappen] would say to me: I want to buy you a car, I would say: an electric one, please. He would die if I say that, die!” [translated via Google]

It makes sense why Max would detest electric cars, considering he drives in the premier motorsport series that is known for the speed and combustion of traditional engines. Although F1 is going more sustainable and hybrid, there is considerably less possibility that the series will go fully electric.

So there is little chance Verstappen may develop an affinity for electric cars. Nonetheless, the relationship between him and Piquet is going pretty smoothly for the last 3 years.

It may seem rudimentary for a millionaire F1 driver, but the circumstances of the FIA Gala forced such an approach. Piquet did her best to keep tabs on the entire game, in case Max was occupied with any other duties on his special night.

Nonetheless, it was a heartbreak for the Red Bull driver as the Netherlands lost a closely fought game in the penalty kicks. The Dutchman could have got an additional boost of joy on the night of his crowning if the Last 8 clash went the other way.
