Lewis Hamilton has had a subpar start to his 2022 season. The Mercedes driver has got one podium finish in the first two races of the season. But his most shocking performance came at the last race weekend when he was unable to get out of Q1. Although he managed to finish P10 in the race to bring home a solitary point. Overall, it was a weekend to forget for the 7-time world champion.

Hamilton has won a race in every single season he has competed in Formula One since making his debut in 2007. But according to Formula One journalist Rebecca Clancy, Hamilton might not win a single race this season. Mercedes are currently struggling against the rivals Red Bull and Ferrari in terms of pure performance. They have not got the answer to their rival’s pace in either qualifying or races.
Will Lewis Hamilton go winless in 2022?
Seeing the Silver Arrows suffer, many have speculated in the paddock that Hamilton might go winless this season. “There’s chatter in the paddock, he’s won a race every season since 2007, and there’s actually a chance he might not win a race this year. Mercedes are really struggling to work out what’s wrong with their car,” said Clancy.
“They are having issues with porpoising, which is basically the car bouncing up and down, and the only way to fix it is to raise the car height, which would slow the car down and that’s a big problem.”
“They are miles off Ferrari and Red Bull. We’re talking a second, which is huge in Formula One terms,” added the F1 insider.

Although one should never count out Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, things are looking dire for the world champions heading into the Australian Grand Prix this weekend.
It is difficult to count the 7-time world champion out of contention for winning a race right now. But it is a possibility if Red Bull and Ferrari continue to dominate the rest of the season just as they dominated the first 2 races of 2022.
