They might not have had the best of relationships, but Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo have certainly given us many iconic moments. From Daniel hitting Lando in the face with a space hopper to rocking the crop top with James Corden, the pair has consistently made us laugh. Moreover, Norris paid a fitting tribute to his departing McLaren teammate in a recent interview.

Lando Norris has consistently dominated Daniel Ricciardo during his McLaren tenure. The Brit is on his way to finishing above the Aussie driver in the standings for the second season running. However, the 22-year-old has claimed that he has learned a lot from his teammate during his time with the Papaya team.

Talking to ESPN F1, Norris said, “It’s been an honor, it’s been a lot of fun. One of the funniest guys and also the nicest guys. Probably, in the paddock, I’d not have met everyone but I’ll be biased in saying that and I’ve still been able to learn a hell lot from Daniel.”

The Briton continued, “His approach to racing, his mentality with it, all I’ve seen the tough times you know, he keeps so strong with it all and has so much belief in himself. That’s something I struggled a lot with when I came into F1 and something I’ve been able to learn a lot from him.”

Daniel will be replaced by fellow countrymen Oscar Piastri next year. The rookie driver was the F2 champion in 2021 with Prema Racing.

Daniel Ricciardo excited to be in Texas ahead of the US GP

McLaren’s Aussie driver revealed he is happy to return to Texas ahead of his final 4 races in the sport. Ricciardo claimed he had a strong weekend in Japan despite not having much to show on paper. However, ahead of the US GP, Daniel is delighted to be back in the United States.

Ricciardo said to F1.com, “I’m excited for the last four [Grands Prix], I mean I’m excited for this track. I find that I always get two-tenths extra here just being in Texas. So, let’s see. But [I’m] happy, excited, pumped, motivated, fired up.”

Ricciardo has certainly given us many incredible moments during the US GP weekend. From entering the paddock on Horsey McHorse to his Texas tribute beard, Daniel keeps proving time and again how much he loves the race in Austin.

The Honey badger is currently 12th in the driver’s standings, a massive 72 points behind his teammate Lando Norris.

The McLaren journey nears its end for Daniel Ricciardo. Despite the stint not being an overly successful one, Daniel would have cherished the memories made alongside his friendship with Lando Norris.
