The Australian GP held the most bizarre incidents. Undoubtedly, the stewards would have been under tremendous pressure and would have invited controversy whichever way they’d decided to conclude the race. For now, the flak comes mainly from Ferrari fans and Carlos Sainz’s fans, who are getting back from Lewis Hamilton’s army, which is now rallying against the FIA. What was the incident and what was the controversy surrounding it? Let’s find out.
After the dramatic end to the Australian GP, fans of Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz have joined forces against the FIA’s decision to restart the race with a disrupted order, which got shuffled due to the massive chaos at the second restart. The third restart saw Carlos Sainz being penalized five seconds to his final time for slamming into Fernando Alonso during the second restart. Whereas the third restart meant Fernando Alonso starting behind Lewis Hamilton.
Chaos. Chaos?! 🤯

The fans argue that the re-order system at the third restart was an absolute mess and shouldn’t have taken place at all. While Ferrari fans argue that because the lap at the second restart was deleted, the penalty for Sainz shouldn’t stand, Lewis’s fans back their judgment as Lewis Hamilton was confused after finding Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin beside him.
Lewis Hamilton’s fans are enraged over the FIA’s call
Lewis Hamilton’s fans believe that the Briton has always been on the side of injustice when it comes to decisions made by the FIA. They are always reminded of the events from the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. But this time, throughout the whole race, the Mercedes driver looked in a comfortable position, regardless of Fernando Alonso’s position on the track. Yet the fans were quick to point out the flaw in the FIA’s system.
"re-order" That thing they should have done at AbuDhabi '21

Carlos Sainz gained sympathy from the LH army after he was demoted to P12 following the penalty implementation. On the other hand, both Lewis and Fernando enjoyed podiums, so the drivers themselves might only have little to complain about following a comfortable conclusion to the race.
What a shit show
They served sainz a penalty while not counting the last restart as a lap
But giving alonso back his positon while not counting the same lap ffs😂😂😂 https://t.co/Z1yVRJeh0z— Joe (@inmessionante07) April 2, 2023

The race was a roller coaster and couldn’t have gone better. However, some of the decisions were surely controversial.
