Max Verstappen is a racing prodigy who made his F1 debut at the age of 17. The dutchman has since gone on to dominate the F1 world, winning his first world title at the end of the 2021 season. His performances and records at the young age of 24 have seen comparisons be drawn to Michael Schumacher and other greats of the sport.

In a recent interview with Martin Brundle, Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner, was posed the question, “Does he (Verstappen) drive the team the way a Michael Schumacher would have done?”
Horner then replied, “No. I would say that he is different to Michael.”
He went on to add, “What you get from Max is, when he gets in the car you know you’re gonna get a 110%.”

Brundle then compared Verstappen to Vettel, to which Horner said, “I’d say he’s just different…”
“Vettel was very analytical, worked incredibly hard.”
He then added, “Max, he’s more seat of the pants… equally determined, possibly even more determined.”
Verstappen has put in stellar performances so far this season as he comfortably leads the title race. However, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, who sits p2 in the standings, still harbors hopes of sneaking the title.
AlphaTauri boss heaps praise on Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen has been the driver to beat in the first half of the 2022 season. The Dutchman has dominated proceedings more often than not winning 8 races and finishing on the podium in all but 3 races in the opening 13 rounds.
This string of stellar performances has prompted AlphaTauri boss Franz Tost to comment on Verstappen’s driving, labeling it, “an extremely high level.”

He went on to add, “Still, we haven’t seen the best from him yet.”
He also spoke about Hamilton having a tough time this season. Tost said, “Time has taken his toll on Hamilton,” prompting a changing of the guard.

Verstappen will look to come back re-energized and reinvigorated from the summer break to continue his title charge. He currently sits 80 points ahead of second-place Charles Leclerc, a comfortable lead for him to defend.
