Lewis Hamilton has been one of the most outspoken people in the F1 paddock in recent times. He has used his voice to reach out to people about various social issues, most important issues like climate change. Another person who’s followed suit and has had a voice about these issues is four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel. Vettel has also been quite vocal about issues like climate change and Hamilton says that he is incredibly proud of Sebastian for his commitment to environmental issues.

Hamilton is very proud of Vettel

Recently, Lewis Hamilton praised Sebastian for raising a voice to increase awareness about climate change.

I’m incredibly proud of Sebastian,” said Hamilton, when asked about Sebastian Vettel’s commitment to environmental issues.

He has discovered things that make him happy. And with the older generation, our age, you have a little more empathy. He has a family, often thinks about the future of his children, and wants to do something for his children. We speak often on these subjects. ”

Vettel has been taking a stand for climate change awareness

Sebastian Vettel is one of the most likable people in the F1 Paddock. He doesn’t use social media at all and remains quite silent about things other than racing. However recently he has been making all kinds of statements about issues such as climate change. The interesting part is, more than his words, his actions are making the statement.

The whole F1 world appreciated Vettel when he stayed behind after the 2021 British Grand Prix to clean up the littered grandstands of the Silverstone Circuit.

He also spent part of his time at the Red Bull Ring in Austria helping to build a bee hotel in the shape of a Formula 1 racing car. He also involved a lot of local school children in this activity.

Vettel has said before that it is not his intention to take up politics but this is an issue that affects us all, including him. And thus he feels an obligation to speak up about it.

With Formula 1 taking necessary steps to promote more efficient fuel, 2022 will see the introduction of E10 fuels in the F1 cars, a mixture of 90% fossil fuel and  10% ethanol. However, F1 has recently announced that they are spearheading the development of a 100% sustainable fuel which will help them achieve their goal of being Net Zero Carbon by 2030.
