4-time world champion Sebastian Vettel is finally at the twilight of his Formula 1 career. It has been a long career since he joined Formula 1 as a test driver for BMW Sauber in 2006. Since then, he has achieved it all and will take at least one record for the most consecutive wins in a season with him.

Vettel’s last championship-winning season was in 2013 with Red Bull. He displayed the driving prowess of the superlative degree and set the aforementioned record. Ever since then, the title has escaped him, sometimes too close for comfort. The only drivers from his era that remain active are Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, with the Spaniard set to replace him at Aston Martin.
Sebastian Vettel’s advice for his replacement, Fernando Alonso
Fernando Alonso is the most experienced driver on the grid at the moment. The 41-year-old has incredible potential but call him unlucky as he could not match it with desirable results owing to some bad decision-making. The 2-time champion is set to start a new journey next season by filling outgoing Sebastian Vettel’s shoes.
Sebastian Vettel recently appeared in an interview for the Aston Martin F1 team’s official website. There he was asked if he had any advice for his replacement next season, Fernando Alonso.
Vettel, aware of Alonso’s massive experience, replied, “Fernando doesn’t need any advice. I’m not sure he’s taking any advice, but he doesn’t need it anyway. He’s been around for so long and seen so much – he’ll be fine.”

Alonso is currently driving for Alpine and has fared immensely given the reliability issues of the car. The Spaniard has had 4 DNFs in the season so far and is just 13 points behind his teammate Esteban Ocon who has had 2 DNFs. His ability to extract the best out of a car is well-known.

In the interview, Seb was asked if his decision to retire would have been different if he had a competitive car. Seb replied he loves winning and while it may sound “selfish and egotistical“, winning drives him.
He continued, “Finishing 10th doesn’t give me a buzz because I know how it feels to finish first. If you’ve never finished first, the first time you finish 10th you get a real buzz. But I’m happy that I don’t get a buzz from finishing 10th.”
